2024 ITE – Call for Indigenous Adjudicators
The RHF Indigenous Teacher Education Initiative (ITE) launched the 2024 Open Call for applications of Indigenous-led projects that aim to enrich Canada’s learning landscape through efforts that will support Indigenous educators.
We are inviting First Nations, Inuit and Métis educators with an invested interest and expertise in Indigenous teacher education to participate on a consensus-based peer review adjudication panel to review the 2024 applications. In our commitment to the values and principles of equity and inclusion, the adjudication panel will be a nationally representative and diverse panel of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis education experts.
The 2024 Open Call invites project submissions via two funding streams: (1) Reinforce and (2) Retain. These two themes reflect an overarching commitment to (1) scaling approaches in Indigenous teacher education programs; and (2) addressing the lack of culturally appropriate and relevant resources or supports for First Nations, Inuit and Métis teachers.
Please see the “Grant” tab for more information on the two funding streams of the 2024 ITE Open Call.
The adjudication panelists will ensure to participate in the following:
Application Deadline: We will be accepting applications for adjudicators until February 24, 2025, 11:59 (PT)

Thursday April 25, 2025: 12:00pm – 5:00pm ET – Deliberation Call for Retain
Friday, April 25, 2025: 12:00pm – 5:00pm ET – Deliberation Call for Reinforce
*The virtual deliberation call meetings will require a half-day commitment. You will only need to attend one of these meetings depending on the stream you choose to adjudicate.
This is optional. You can choose to participate on a voluntary basis or receive an honorarium of $500 for your participation.
Adjudicators will be selected based on suitability for the individual funding streams. Priority will be given to adjudicators who are thorough and clear in their application, including their experience/expertise in the Indigenous teacher education space, and availability to participate in the meeting dates and complete application reviews and scoring. Selection will also consider a diverse geographic spread, with both rural and urban First Nations, Inuit, and Métis representation from coast to coast to coast.
We will notify the members selected for the two adjudicator panels in early March.
We are inviting First Nations, Inuit and Métis educators and/or experts in the Indigenous teacher education space to participate on a consensus-based peer review adjudication panel
