Con\u00e7u, d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 et test\u00e9 par les chercheurs David McLagan, Carl Mitchell et Frank Wania, l\u2019\u00e9chantillonneur a \u00e9t\u00e9 commercialis\u00e9 et est utilis\u00e9 dans des r\u00e9seaux de surveillance au Canada et ailleurs dans le monde, offrant ainsi la possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019air et de r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions de mercure \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7cbba01 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7cbba01\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">\u00c0 propos de l\u2019innovateurs<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-db5c49b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"db5c49b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>MerPAS est le fruit d\u2019une collaboration entre trois innovateurs de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto \u00e0 Scarborough (UTSC). Les travaux de doctorat en sciences de l\u2019environnement de David McLagan, supervis\u00e9s par les professeurs Carl Mitchell et Frank Wania et achev\u00e9s en 2018, ont servi d\u2019assises au d\u00e9veloppement, aux essais et \u00e0 la mise en \u0153uvre de MerPAS. En 2018, l\u2019\u00e9chantillonneur a \u00e9t\u00e9 commercialis\u00e9 par Tekran Instruments Corporation, un chef de file de la technologie de mesure environnementale au service de l\u2019industrie, du gouvernement et des institutions de recherche. Aujourd\u2019hui professeur adjoint en g\u00e9ochimie environnementale \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Queen&rsquo;s, M. McLagan a re\u00e7u la M\u00e9daille d\u2019or acad\u00e9mique du Gouverneur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral pour son travail sur MerPAS et a poursuivi ses recherches en tant qu\u2019associ\u00e9 de recherche \u00e0 Environnement et Changement climatique Canada \u00e0 titre de boursier postdoctoral financ\u00e9 par la Fondation allemande des sciences et le CRSNG \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 technique de Braunschweig, en Allemagne et de professeur adjoint en sciences physiques et environnementales \u00e0 l\u2019UTSC. Carl Mitchell et Frank Wania sont tous deux professeurs au d\u00e9partement des sciences physiques et environnementales de l\u2019UTSC. Carl Mitchell s\u2019est joint \u00e0 l\u2019UTSC en 2008 apr\u00e8s avoir obtenu un doctorat en g\u00e9ographie physique \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto et une bourse de recherche postdoctorale au Smithsonian Environmental Research Center dans le Maryland, aux \u00c9tats-Unis. Frank Wania, membre de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 royale du Canada, a obtenu son doctorat en g\u00e9nie chimique et chimie appliqu\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto en 1995. Apr\u00e8s deux ans en tant que scientifique au Norwegian Institute for Air Research et trois ans en tant que chercheur ind\u00e9pendant, il s\u2019est joint \u00e0 l\u2019UTSC en
