Auparavant, il a travaill\u00e9 pendant 15 ans au sein de la fonction publique ontarienne, occupant des postes \u00e0 responsabilit\u00e9s croissantes dans les affaires intergouvernementales, le d\u00e9veloppement des affaires, les relations avec les parties prenantes, la communication et le conseil en mati\u00e8re de politiques et de programmes. Kumaran est administrateur du Conseil de Commerce Canada-Inde et s\u2019engage dans des actions philanthropiques par l\u2019interm\u00e9diaire de la Fondation Selvayogam, fond\u00e9e par sa famille.
