Borrows, Ph. D., a permis au Canada de mieux comprendre la fa\u00e7on dont le droit autochtone et le droit non autochtone peuvent coexister harmonieusement. Il a cocr\u00e9\u00e9 le tout premier programme de double dipl\u00f4me en droit autochtone et aide les communaut\u00e9s \u00e0 raviver les principes et processus de droit autochtone de sorte \u00e0 relever les d\u00e9fis actuels. L\u2019innovation en mati\u00e8re de droit contribue \u00e0 l\u2019autonomisation, \u00e0 la sant\u00e9, aux progr\u00e8s \u00e9conomiques et \u00e0 l\u2019effervescence culturelle.<br>\nJohn Borrows, Ph. D., est Anishinaabe,\u202fmembre de la Premi\u00e8re Nation Chippewa de Nawash et occupe le r\u00f4le de titulaire de la chaire de recherche en droit autochtone de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Victoria. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-164f2ec elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"164f2ec\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">\u00c0 propos de l\u2019innovateur<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4baef13 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4baef13\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>John Borrows, Ph. D., est l\u2019un des tout premiers \u00e9minents chercheurs qui s\u2019int\u00e9ressent au droit autochtone. Dans leurs principes du droit et de l\u2019ordre, les Autochtones tiennent compte de la nature, du territoire et des fa\u00e7ons de promouvoir la paix entre les peuples. Ce cadre l\u00e9gal, nettement diff\u00e9rent de la common law et du Code civil du Canada, propose un chemin concret vers la r\u00e9conciliation et promet une meilleure issue pour les Premi\u00e8res Nations du Canada. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5f56fdf elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5f56fdf\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u00c0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Victoria, John Borrows a cofond\u00e9 le tout premier programme de double dipl\u00f4me en droit autochtone et common law. Il est l\u2019un des leaders de l\u2019audacieux projet de loi sur les droits des Autochtones et agit \u00e0 titre de conseiller dans le cadre du projet de recherche sur la transformation de la Loi sur les Indiens. Il appuie les efforts d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s par et pour les peuples autochtones, lesquels visent la r\u00e9clamation de leur droit inh\u00e9rent \u00e0 l\u2019autonomie gouvernementale dans l\u2019objectif de contrer l\u2019injustice syst\u00e9mique et individuelle et de b\u00e2tir des communaut\u00e9s plus saines, plus s\u00e9curitaires et plus inclusives.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-33b1f1c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"33b1f1c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u00c9minent professeur de droit, John Borrows enseigne \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Victoria et partout dans le monde. Anishinaabe\/Ojibway,\u202fmembre de la Premi\u00e8re Nation Chippewa de Nawash en Ontario, il est par ailleurs l&rsquo;auteur d&rsquo;une foule de publications et d&rsquo;expos\u00e9s portant sur les droits l\u00e9gaux et les traditions autochtones. Parmi ses publications : Recovering Canada: The Resurgence of Indigenous Law; Canada&rsquo;s Indigenous Constitution; Aboriginal Legal Issues: Cases, Materials &amp; Commentary et Drawing Out Law: A Spirit&rsquo;s Guide. John Borrows est membre de la Fondation Trudeau et des Acad\u00e9mies des arts, des lettres et des sciences du Canada et s\u2019est notamment vu d\u00e9cerner le Prix d\u2019excellence autochtone en
