Sc. (avec distinction) en chimie appliqu\u00e9e (1995) et son doctorat en chimie organom\u00e9tallique (1999) \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McMaster, ce dernier sous la supervision des professeurs Michael A. Brook et Michael J. McGlinchey. Apr\u00e8s des recherches en tant que boursier postdoctoral du CRSNG \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de la Californie \u00e0 Berkeley avec le professeur T. Don Tilley (1999-2001), Mark s\u2019est joint au d\u00e9partement de chimie de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Dalhousie o\u00f9 il occupe d\u00e9sormais le poste de professeur titulaire. Mark a re\u00e7u un certain nombre de prix en reconnaissance de ses travaux de recherche, notamment le prix Rio Tinto 2021 de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 canadienne de chimie pour ses contributions exceptionnelles \u00e0 la chimie inorganique au Canada. En juillet 2013, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 professeur de chimie Alexander McLeod de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Dalhousie, et en 2017, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 membre de la Royal Society of Chemistry (Royaume-Uni). En 2018, Mark a re\u00e7u le prix de la facult\u00e9 des sciences de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Dalhousie pour l\u2019enseignement et en 2020, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 titulaire de la chaire de recherche Arthur B. McDonald de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Dalhousie (\u00e9quivalent de la chaire de recherche du Canada de niveau I; 2020-2027).
