Holdcroft, FRSC et titulaire d\u2019une chaire de recherche du Canada \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Simon Fraser, est une sommit\u00e9 mondiale dans le domaine des mat\u00e9riaux \u00e9lectrochimiques destin\u00e9s aux technologies d\u2019\u00e9nergie propre. Sa recherche fondamentale a inspir\u00e9 des chercheurs du monde entier, et a men\u00e9 directement \u00e0 la commercialisation de mat\u00e9riaux de pointe \u00e0 m\u00eame de r\u00e9volutionner le secteur de la conversion \u00e9lectrochimique de l\u2019\u00e9nergie. En outre, Steven Holdcroft a dirig\u00e9 la d\u00e9couverte de nouveaux mat\u00e9riaux r\u00e9volutionnaires, comme des membranes polym\u00e8res \u00e9changeuses d\u2019ions hydroxyde et d\u2019acides non perfluorooctanesulfonique (PFOS) d\u2019une stabilit\u00e9 sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Simon Fraser, et a cofond\u00e9 avec Benjamin Britton, alors \u00e9tudiant au doctorat, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Ionomr Innovations Inc. La th\u00e8se de doctorat innovante de M. Britton et sa clairvoyance entrepreneuriale ont conduit \u00e0 la d\u00e9couverte et \u00e0 la commercialisation de ces mat\u00e9riaux r\u00e9volutionnaires pour le secteur de l\u2019\u00e9nergie propre. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des recherches de premier plan, \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle et ax\u00e9es sur les appareils du secteur de l\u2019\u00e9lectrochimie des hydrocarbures, M. Britton a jou\u00e9 le r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 de faire sortir les mat\u00e9riaux d\u2019Ionomr du cadre du laboratoire. Il a r\u00e9uni la premi\u00e8re \u00e9quipe et les fonds initiaux, en assumant un r\u00f4le aussi bien sur les plans commercial et technologique que strat\u00e9gique. D\u00e9sign\u00e9 \u00ab expert en innovation \u00bb par le Conseil mondial de l\u2019\u00e9nergie, nomm\u00e9 au palmar\u00e8s 40 des moins de 40 ans de Business in Vancouver, reconnu comme un porteur de changement (\u00ab Changemaker \u00bb) par le Globe and Mail et conf\u00e9rencier invit\u00e9 sur la science et l\u2019innovation, il est une source d\u2019inspiration pour les futurs leaders du pays \u0153uvrant dans les technologies propres.
