Nation-building potential and the power of philanthropy
Gerald Schwartz is CEO and Founder at Onex Corp. In 2005, Mr. Schwartz was made an Officer of the Order of Canada, and in 2004 he was inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame. He and his wife Heather Reisman have made outstanding philanthropic contributions to healthcare and education in both Canada and Israel.
“My wife and I chose to support the Rideau Hall Foundation because we saw it as a way of celebrating and recognizing the legacy of the Right Honourable David Johnston – Canada’s 28th Governor General. The organization was created during his mandate in office, but lives beyond it, serving as an ongoing, sustainable charitable vehicle to extend the reach and impact of the Office of Governor General and the values it represents to Canadians.
