Pickering, Ontario
Chief of Staff and Associate Executive Director, Canadian Race Relations Foundation
Saswati is a race relations, legislative, and systems change leader working at the intersection of justice, human rights, and democracy. She is grounded in a simple belief: social cohesion and equity are essential to a strong Canada. Over nearly two decades spanning provincial and national contexts, she has worked alongside communities—meeting people with compassion and a people-first approach, building pathways for change with complex institutions and numerous political leaders. She has architected historic legislative reform and policy solutions that reflect lived realities and advance access to justice while strengthening the social fabric of Canada. She designs meaningful outcomes for Canadians alongside the exceptional team she works with, brings diverse perspectives together, and creates space where none exists—adding seats to decision making tables to galvanize inclusiveness. She believes in going further together, because progress is strongest in Canada when we see ourselves in the outcome. Outside of work, she enjoys vibing to old-school 90s and Bollywood music, cooking Bengali-inspired dishes, and “fam jamming” with loved ones.
